Y'all...YouTube is HARD.
Good news: I filmed my first video. Sad News: I'm going to need some more time to figure this out...
I’m supposed to be learning archery right now for my new YouTube channel.
For two weeks, I’ve had “FILM ARCHERY VIDEO FOR M.C.T. FOR YOUTUBE” on my Calendar. I spoke to my partner to make sure he could help me film it, and had my outfit picked out. It was this cute all-black workout dress from Popflex, with a tulle skirt, that I thought would be absolutely perfect. This activity checked off all my boxes for the Main Character Training series.
It was:
Affordable
Fun to do
More fun to watch
Fantasy related
However, instead of filming, I’m at home writing a to-do list for my Saturday that involves catching up on work, revisions, and sadly, not filming the first video for this series. After last week’s filming fiasco…I realized I might need a little more time to adjust to YouTube before I’m ready to take on this series, and honestly? It sucks.
So What Happened Last Week?
Last week, I knew I was going to be filming my first video for YouTube. I’ve written for YouTube before, am a content strategist, and have had numerous viral videos on other platforms. What I didn’t consider was how much things changed and how I wouldn’t be able to have as simple a filming process as I thought…
